My on-going research interests lie in the areas of the teaching and learning of vocabulary, second language acquisition (both of Chinese and English), language learner autonomy and strategies, teacher development, and intercultural communication. I have investigated: (1) strategic language learning, agency and context, (2) international students’ intercultural and educational experiences, (3) strategies for vocabulary development (4) out-of-class vocabulary learning with technology. I am currently developing new interests in various aspects of teacher psychology.
