The section has also been active in the area of ELT research for many years and has a long history of international publications and cooperations.

Since winter semester 2013/14, the University of Graz also has a Doctoral School for Research into Teaching and Learning. Within the Doctoral School, there is also a specialized programme for Language Learning and Teaching Research headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sarah Mercer. This Doctoral Programme is designed to promote focused academic exchange in this specialized area and encourage networking across foreign language disciplines.

In DoCNet, professors for language didactics from the universities of Graz, Erfurt and Klagenfurt have been working together with all of their PhD students for an intensive weekend of seminars, presentations and workshops. Every year, Prof. Sarah Mercer (University of Graz), Prof. Friederike Klippel (LMU München) and Prof. Petra Kirchhoff (University of Erfurt, formerly at University of Regensburg) organise a symposium, which gives students the chance to present and discuss their research, theoretical frameworks and empirical methods.

Below you'll find a list of dissertations that have been written in the area of ELT in the department.
