A great workshop on education technology in traditional “presentation practice production” (PPP) lessons and task-based language teaching (TBLT) alternatives.

Tuesday, 08 May 2018

Yesterday, Huw Jarvis held an amazing workshop on education technology in traditional “presentation practice production” (PPP) lessons and task-based language teaching (TBLT) alternatives.

After a hands-on experience of a traditional PPP lesson at lower intermediate level, which included traditional computer or mobile assisted language learning (CALL/MALL), participants explored how a TBLT lesson takes a different approach to teaching and learning. One which suggests a “post CALL\MALL era” of Mobile Assisted Language Use (MALU). Lastly, participants had the possibility to reflect on issues of methodology, syllabus design and technology as they relate to language education.

Huw Jarvis’ gripping style of talking and great humour led to an unforgettable workshop that all participants profited from greatly. His implementation of technology in the classroom left everyone with a bright outlook on the future of education.

For everyone who missed the workshop, you can find Huw Jarvis and many others talking about a wide variety of topics in education and language learning at www.tesolacademic.org
