The GCMC educational resources aim to support teachers in including global citizenship and multilingual pedagogies into their teaching.
The resources consist of two modules with five units in each module. One module and its five units are designed for teachers’ own professional development, in which they are offered the chance to explore the topics connected to global citizenship and multilingual pedagogies to develop their own skills and knowledges in these areas (Teacher module). The second module and its five units are intended for teachers to work in-class with their students and these include handouts in English, Italian, German, Dutch, and Frisian (Teaching module).
The topics of the units are the same across both the teacher and teaching modules: Connecting local and global issues, Promoting ecoliteracy, Questioning Images: Representation and critical visual literacy, Recognising diversity: Towards inclusive, multilingual practices in secondary classrooms, and Hunting fake news through critical reading.
