Bachelor Secondary Level Teacher Training UF English: A placement test in the form of a subject examination must be taken as part of the ENA module. The purpose of this subject examination is to determine the entry level of the students by means of a standardized test according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The level that must be achieved is B2. Passing the placement test is a prerequisite for registration for Language Awareness 1, English for Academic Purposes, Introduction to English Linguistics I and Introduction to Literary Studies I.

The Placement Test is a standardized test produced in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which determines the entry level of students as part of Module A. The level that must be achieved is B2 (= Matura level). The placement test is carried out electronically via an external website. The placement test must be completed within 50 minutes, otherwise an automatic time out will occur and the studend fail the test (the time available will be displayed on the screen throughout the test). Students must score at least 75 points to pass the test.
Your personal access data will be sent to your student e-mail address (i.e. xy(at)edu.uni-graz.at) immediately before the test begins. It is therefore necessary that you have access to your student e-mail account, as otherwise you will not be able to take the test and there is NO alternative way of taking it.

Students with the study code B990 cannot take this test as they are not registered for a regular (Bachelor's) degree program!

The placement test consists of a grammar part and a listening part. For the latter, you will need headphones or a loudspeaker.
Please note: The placement test is entered as an examination date. This means that you must register directly for the exam - not for a course!
