The third Student Conference of the European Joint Master’s Programme in English and American Studies took place in Kraków, Poland, at the Jagiellonian University, one of the partner universities on May 11, 2023. Approximately 20 students of the programme participated by giving presentations and exhibiting posters of their academic work. The Student Conference’s theme was “Spanning regions and disciplines”, which is in line with the overall philosophy of the programme. Within the framework of the conference students and academics of the eight partner institutions had the opportunity to gain new insights into a variety of topics in linguistics, literature and cultural studies.
After the student conference, the consortium held its annual cooperation and selection meeting from May 12-13, 2023, during which 50 students were selected for the upcoming academic year 2023/24. One of the outcomes of the cooperation meeting is a new addition to the programme which will start this fall: a three-part lecture series combined with the next Student Conference in April 2024 in Bamberg, Germany.
We are very grateful for the hospitality that our colleagues in Kraków showed us and have fond memories of the three days we spent there.
